This project is the result of experiments exploring materials from the marine environment.

Nir Meiri ventures into the use of untapped materials in design.

The designer is inspired by a natural process: when you place an object in a salty aquatic place, the salt slowly crystallizes around the object, which appears magical. The design of the sea salt lamps was inspired by this incredible process.

The lampshades are manufactured using a unique technique using a mixture of sea salt and transparent resin. A mould is used, the salt is slowly absorbed by the resin and crystallizes in the lampshades. Soft, strange and distinctive hues emerge with rough textures.

Turn on the lamp, the light shines through the salt, a singular, soft and ambient light.
