Advice and fast quotations for all your projects
Metal is a material that takes us back to the industrial style of the 60s and 70s. Stylish and sturdy at the same time, it stands for quality and creativity. As natural as wood, metal is all around our interiors. Usually associated with an industrial style, it is not limited in potential and can add a touch of elegance or natural overtones for a charming appeal. The genuine industrial style is exemplified in the Antwerp or Detroit collections from the brand It's about Romi, creating a factory universe from days gone by for their pendant lamps in metal.
For a warmer more inviting atmosphere, metal can mix with other materials such as wood, cork or glass. The table lamp Hodge Podge by Arik Levy from Forestier is a metal and cork rendition that is a clear reversal of the industrial style. The table lamps Glow in a Dome or Speak Up from Ebb and Flow allow metal and glass for a more elegant free-spirit atmosphere.
Metal can take on many different aspects depending on whether it is given a patina, rusted, untreated or even colored finishes. Certain well-known brands such as Matière Grise or Anglepoise have made metal the principal material for all their lamps. The metal pendant lamp Ankara from Matière Grise has simple toned-down shapes and a touch of color, while the Original 1227 collection from Anglepoise offers pendant, table, wall and floor lamps in metal for a resonance with the very British designer styles of the 30s.
