Advice and fast quotations for all your projects
The dining room, often close to the living room, is a social space where everyone comes together to share a meal. If your dining room is sizable, you will need several light sources such as wall lamps, floor lamps and table lamps.
To highlight the table, a couple of pendant lamps positioned above work nicely, as long as they are proportional to the table size and not over powerful. A round or square table works well with a centered overhead light that is round in form or a composition of smaller lamps at different heights. The Cloud pendant lamps from Prolamp adapt well to these types of tables. On the other hand, rectangular tables are best matched with long slender pendant lamps (for instance, the pendant lamp Swan from Tunto) or a series of pendants.
Your lighting should adapt to your different activities and the particular moments of the day. To meet such a changing schedule, it is possible to use dimmers to control the light intensity. To achieve a natural lighting that resembles daylight, you can choose a light bulb that is not too hot, not too cold in temperature. A “warm” white light is not as harsh and is more pleasant than pure white light. A light bulb at 5000k will be too white, even bluish emitting a cooler ambient effect. Light bulbs under 1500K will veer to yellow and not do justice to the food on your plate.
