The brand was born from the collaboration of two people: Jean-Charles Barbotin and Stéphane Brunclair. Both are passionate about design and architecture, and each has been shaped by their respective career paths. Jean-Charles is a designer who has been working in the world of furniture and luxury goods for 30 years. Stéphane has collaborated, as an engineer and designer, on numerous projects in the visual arts and film.

They decided to combine their creativity with innovative interactive technologies and their passion for lighting design.

Eager to explore new materials and technologies applied to lighting, they founded IoLab. The brand collaborates with artists who enrich the range of possibilities around the MonoBlock concept. IoLab is a skills-driven approach. The brand develops innovative circuits for controllers and builds the future around this synergy.

IoLab is committed to working with French and European partners and service providers and to developing production based on high-quality results and artisanal expertise.

The brand’s lamps are hand-assembled using eco-design principles and align with IoLab’s values and overall process. All packaging is made from recycled materials, and the products do not emit harmful electromagnetic fields. They can be easily disassembled, and each component is separable, replaceable, and recyclable. All of the brand’s models are registered with the I.N.P.I.

IoLab lamps create the sensation of a diffuse internal light source, fostering a sense of intimacy with the object. The brand’s goal is to offer pieces that are original in both form and choice of materials. The principles of light diffusion, sequencing, and light quality characterize the brand’s technological research and development.
