The entrance, as well as the hallway, is a space we only pass through. Depending on its size, a mix of light sources is recommended: direct lights as well as indirect lights for those moments when strong light is not desirable.
The entrance lighting should be functional and decorative at the same time. If you have high ceilings, opt for a chandelier or pendant lamp. A chandelier such as the Angelus from Forestier or the Crown from JSPR provides impressive light for an entrance with an imposing yet unforgettable designer illumination. For low ceilings, the ceiling light suits them better and helps to gain space. The Bianca pendant from Fontana Arte, or from Celine Wright, add a certain grace and design to the entryway.
Concerning indirect light sources, wall lamps or even table lamps on a piece of furniture would be a good choice. The table lamp Pipistrello by Martinelli Luce placed on a pedestal table makes for an attractive initial entrance into your home.
For a softened light, wall lamps in wood (from Secto Design), in Japanese paper (chez Céline Wright) or even in fabrics (from DesignHeure), all offer a softer, subdued lighting effect. We suggest that you avoid intense strong lighting that certain spots can provide for instance; while on the other hand, light bulbs with a weak intensity could leave you standing in the dark.
