Catellani & Smith is an Italian brand founded in 1989 by designer Enzo Catellani. The brand name, partly inspired by irony, conceals a personal anecdote. Logan Smith, who was presented as a fictional co-founder—supposedly a London architect—was none other than the name of Enzo Catellani’s horse at the time. This ruse was intended not only to divert attention from himself but also to lend the brand international credibility and infuse a touch of humor into this entrepreneurial venture. From its very beginnings, the brand has stood out for this unpretentious and spontaneous approach.
