Meet Herstal, Belid’s Swedish “little sister” brand. Founded in 1988, Herstal brings light to many homes across Northern Europe.

Conceived by Martin Herstal and his wife Lotte, the brand was born in the Vesterbro district of Denmark. Starting out as owners of a small lamp store, the young couple’s ambition was to advise customers and sell lighting fixtures that were both high-quality and aesthetically pleasing.

It was in the late 1980s that the Herstal brand rose to prominence with its halogen lamps featuring playful, urban designs. Thus, over the past few decades, Herstal and its brand identity have endured, as has the couple’s original goal of combining playful and energetic design with high-quality lighting in every lamp.

Today, Herstal has joined the Belid Lighting group, allowing the brand’s identity to continue to grow while staying true to its values and adding a touch of modernity.
