The English brand Sowden was created by George Sowden in 2010.

This designer has a personal interest in working with craft organizations and small industries. Based in Milan, George Sowden has collaborated with major companies such as Olivetti, Tefal, Pyrex, Memphis and Moulinex, and has won numerous design awards, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Award.

In 2010, Sowden offers a variety of kitchen objects, including the famous SoftBrew, a unique coffee machine.

Ten years later, Sowden Light, the brand's latest extension, presents SHADES, a collection of lamps with multiple configuration possibilities, ranging from pendant lamps, table lamps, floor lamps to cordless lamps. The idea took shape during a project in which the designer discovered the ability and potential of diffusing light through silicone. This material distinguishes lamps, colors and proportions that diffuse a soft, comfortable light.
