Advice and fast quotations for all your projects
Wood is a noble material that is both pleasant and natural. Lights made of wood – wall, pendant or table lamps – can take advantage of the easy shaping aspects of this material, perfect for all the rooms of the house.
All wood is not equal and each has its particularities: oak is a hardwood that is very grainy, birch is light in color and very workable, while the cherry tree provides a dark-colored wood with a natural patina. The choice of wood can alter the final aspect and color of a lamp. Certain brands such as LZF built their reputation on the way they adapted wood to lamps, via innovations such as polywood. This wood is fashioned with agility, and then colored in bright pop tones. The Agatha, Link or Air collections offer artsy pendants and lamp shades surprisingly made in wood. They create a subdued atmosphere due to the different thicknesses of the wood and the way they reflect the light.
Wood is very prevalent in Scandinavian design. Lamps take on pliant shapes that are geometric and minimalist, usually in a white wood or one that has been finished in white. White totally suits cozy unconventional interiors due to its toned down aspect. At Secto Design, the Octo or 4201 collections are emblematic.
Light-colored woods in amber-yellow shades take control of the light and create a softer tone in the room; for instance, the pendant lamp in oak called Natural Oak from New Works.
Grainy wood opts for the genuine look to boast the internal resonance of the material, as exemplified in the wooden LED floor lamps from Tunto.
Indeed, wood is a material that brings a touch of warmth to any room of the house.
