Our lighting, from Georges

Founded in 2010 by Mylène Niedzialkowski, Georges is a French interior design and furniture studio.

Georges was built on the family craftsmanship that Mylène inherited throughout her childhood. Accustomed from a very young age to working with her hands and the art of craftsmanship, she now creates poetic, handcrafted home decor, furniture, and lighting.

These pieces are rich in contrasts. Mylène pays particular attention to the materials she uses. As a result, many natural materials are featured, such as cotton, wool, raffia, and rattan. The materials are often left in their raw state, yet the forms are delicate and harmonious. These creations blend organic shapes and colors, craftsmanship, and the energy of the city.

Finally, Georges also embodies an eco-responsible approach—a French-style “slow design.”
Committed to preserving artisanal production and local sourcing, in 2020 Mylène brought the Georges workshops together at the Château de Meritein. It is in this setting that Georges products are handcrafted by some thirty artisans.
Everything is done with a sincere and sustainable approach: from sourcing to production, including the natural pigments used for the colors. For more specialized materials that cannot be produced on-site, the brand prioritizes eco-friendly, biodegradable materials or those produced by French workshops (such as silk from Lyon or stoneware from Orriule).

Georges encourages experimentation, so every avenue is explored.

Today, Georges’ creations allow everyone to personalize their home to feel comfortable there.
Through her approach, Mylène has created a poetic and natural world, with certain designs—such as the Pale lighting collection—having established their own distinctive style.
