Mylène Niedzialkowski founded Georges in 2010 and is behind the brand's creations.
Thanks to the family skills Mylène inherited throughout her childhood, she has always worked with her hands to create singular objects. Accustomed from an early age to manual labor and the art of making, she now creates poetic, handcrafted decorations, furniture and lighting.
Naturally discreet, she prefers to keep to the shadows. That's why she adopted the timeless first name of Georges to build her project.
Accustomed to a nomadic lifestyle due to her parents' relocation, her creations are light and modular, allowing objects to be transported to feel at home anywhere.
These creations are rich in contrasts. Mylène pays particular attention to the materials she uses. We find many natural materials such as cotton, wool, raffia, rattan... The materials used are often raw, but the shapes are delicate and harmonious. These creations blend organic forms and colors, craftsmanship and urban energy.
Keen to maintain artisanal production and local sourcing, in 2020 Mylène brought the Georges workshops together at Château de Meritein. It is in this environment that Georges products are handcrafted by some thirty artisans.
Everything is done with sincerity and sustainability in mind: from sourcing and manufacturing to the natural pigments used for the colors.
Mylène's approach has given birth to a poetic, natural universe, and some of her designs, such as the Pale lighting collection, have established their own style.
