Advice and fast quotations for all your projects
The light bulbs are essential elements of our daily lives, playing a crucial role in lighting our spaces and controlled by switches. Several types of bulb exist, ranging from the classic to the more designer model. Each bulb has its own characteristics, such as the type of base (E27, GU10, E14, G9...), or the luminous intensity, expressed in lumens, or the color of the light, expressed in kelvins.
The choice of bulbs is manifold. LED bulbs are the ideal solution for modern lighting. They combine eco-responsibility with longevity, making them a wise choice for long-term use. The halogen bulb, which we no longer recommend and which is gradually disappearing, is the improved version of the incandescent bulb. Its intense luminosity was often used for lampadaires or spotlights.
It's important to know that a bulb's lighting power isn't measured in volts, but in lumens. The volt (V) measures the electrical voltage between two points in a circuit, while the lumen (lm) quantifies the luminosity produced by a light source. The higher the luminous flux, the brighter the light. However, this technical characteristic is not the only criterion for choosing your bulb. Kelvin (K) determines the color of light: the lower the color temperature (2200 K), the yellower the light; conversely, the higher the temperature (4000 K), the whiter the light. In the living room and bedroom, a warm, soft light is preferred, while in the bathroom, a whiter, more functional light is preferable. Finally, choosing the right base for your bulb is essential. The base is the part of the bulb that fits into the socket of your fixture. Information on the base is often found on the bulb itself.
Beyond their functionality, bulbs play an important aesthetic role in interior design. For contemporary settings, some brands offer connected bulbs, controllable via a mobile app. These allow you to customize lighting to suit your mood. The same goes for dimmable bulbs. Ergonomic, they regulate light intensity to suit your mood. Looking for a vintage touch? Filament LED bulbs add a chic retro touch, like the E27 filament bulb by Studio Zangra. These bulbs can be sublimated with open fixtures or metal suspensions.
Whether for their energy efficiency, environmental impact or contribution to the room's aesthetics, it's important to choose bulbs that meet your needs and blend harmoniously into your decor.
