BARTOLO - OLIVIA DECARIS ARCHITECTURE
This Italian restaurant on rue des Canettes, in the heart of the 6 th arrondissement, is a legendary former pizzeria founded by Bartolo Memola in the 50's. True to this past, Olivia Decaris has resurrected the soul of Naples through warm tones of yellow, orange, gold and emerald green.
In terms of materials, Arabescato marble (counters and tables) and glazed terracotta wall cladding evoke the exuberance of southern Italy, while a fresco depicting an erupting Vesuvius, painted using the Italian "a fresco" technique as in Pompeii, adds vibrancy to the atmosphere.
The highlight of the show? A suspended back bar, made entirely of glass, reproduces the shape of a theater curtain.
