In 1940, Carlos López, founder of the FARO Group, started selling batteries from a 10m² store in Barcelona. He soon decided to team up with a friend, a specialist in the assembly of office lamps, to market articulated lamps.
Building on his success in the 50s, Carlos López founded LOREFAR in 1951, a combination of the first letters of his surname and that of his partner.
Subsequently, the family business began to run into difficulties in the 1980s, prompting the son, Carlos López Orejudo, to take a risk and move to Hong Kong to expand the range of lighting fixtures and relaunch the company. Thanks to this action, FARO grew stronger and became a key player in the Spanish lighting and ventilation market.
In 1991, Faro Barcelona luminaires arrived in France, and the success was instantaneous, with the home lighting ranges appealing to the French market. In 2015, the brand decided to reinvent itself, promoting dynamism, freshness, proximity, creativity and well-being through its creations.
What's more, Faro has made a name for itself by developing lamps with sophisticated design, impeccable quality and highly competitive pricing. The company works with designers such as Studio Ribaudi, Jordi Lliopis and Manel Llusca, to name but a few, to create exclusive objects. Faro offers a wide range of lighting fixtures for both indoor and outdoor use.
Since 2022, Faro has enlarged its range and divided its collections to propose today an architectural range designed for professionals for all types of projects. Discover their track spotlights, recessed spotlights, linear lighting systems, surfaces, Led profiles and strips, electrical equipment and technical accessories.
