Galula

The design house Galula was founded by two Portuguese designers, Mendes et Macedo, in 2011. After designing objects for their friends and themselves, they decided to open their own studio. Their aim was to give new impetus to functional objects, make their designs interesting and original, but also everyday objects of fun. Galula means "something tasty" in Portuguese and, as they like to say, they wanted to be Fun-ctional. The young brand had the honour of receiving the Design Award in 2014 for the Glint lamp. All their products are manufactured in Portugal, mostly made of cork as cork production is one of Portugal's main specialties.
