The Galula studio was founded by two Portuguese designers, Macedo and Mendes in 2011. They teamed up to give new impetus to functional objects. They wanted to prove that functional design could be fun.
In 2011, they began to imagine parts and products for their homes and their friends, made out of Portuguese cork. The brand was then created. Galula in Portuguese means something tasty. The motivation of the designers is to provoke a smile and happiness and make it 'fun-ctional'.
They won the design award for the Glint lamp in 2014.
All their products are designed and manufactured in Portugal.
