The Golden Editions brand was launched in summer 2019 by Sara Efia Reddin, a British designer based in Paris.
Close to her Ghanaian origins passed down from her mother, Sara Efia combines her passion for ancestral Ghanaian craftsmanship and contemporary design with Golden Editions. The brand offers lighting fixtures, pendant lamps and wall sconces, all made using the art of Bolga weaving, originating in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana. The woven material is a grass, Veta Vera: it is grown locally, harvested before being twisted and pulled to create smooth, strong fibers, which are finally hand-dyed with natural pigments. Based on community work, the workshops are organized to meet production needs, creating an economic life in the heart of the villages, helping to promote the country's crafts and develop the economy of rural areas. Each piece is made by hand, the artisanal process making each one unique. The lampshades are then assembled in France.
The Golden Editions range comprises several families, in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. The collection brings softness and naturalness to both private and public interiors, whether the lamp is used in a living room, circulation area or bedroom. A Golden Editions luminaire blends seamlessly with every user, every décor and every purpose.
