Ali was born and raised in Iran. He moved to Britain in 1988. He quickly realized that in Britain they did not have much natural light for much of the year, so he thought - why not turn that negative into something positive. Rather than being very depressed by sadness, he decided to try to design lights that would be a real source of fun and pleasure.

It all started with the dissertation for his master's degree in industrial design. By transforming everyday objects into lighting fixtures, he has given them a new, more entertaining lifestyle.

Contemporary lighting is continually experimental in the use of materials. Rather than looking for a new, attractive form, he finds it more interesting to look at what already exists and try to apply it differently. The result is that the objects of everyday use, which we take for granted, have a new look or a new purpose and perhaps a longer life cycle.

These products represent the design not in the expected form of elegance and softness but often with a sense of humor that brings these objects closer to the public.
