Annet van Egmond is a Dutch designer. She founded Anna van Egmond Studio, her own design studio, in 2011; and after 20 years of collaboration within the studio Brand van Edmong, she accumulates more than 30 years of experience of design.
After obtaining her diploma at Art Academy, Anna van Egmond started welding in the garage of her parents; adding a bulb to her metallic sculpture, she created her first luminaire.
Her design approach is strongly anchored with sustainability. “It is my strong belief and commitment to Nature that we cannot and should not continue to exploit our planet as we have done lately.” This is why the design process of her studio is based on renewable energy sources, renewable or biodegradable materials, and new technologies of energy efficient light sources.
Along other projects, she collaborated with the Italian brand Contardi in 2020 to produce the portable lamp Miss Nightingale.
