Occupation
Architect

Architects Marinella Patetta and Claudio Valént, both with Masters in Lighting Design and many years of experience, met at the Piero Castiglioni studio. Some years later in 1989, they founded Metis Lighting, working exclusively in lighting design and industrial design. Their work enhances dimensional space thanks to lighting engineering projects that integrate know-how gained from various fields in a synthesis of different disciplines. For FontanaArte, in the early nineties they designed the whole Nobi series, a collection on the fine line between decorative and technical lighting – immediately, and still today, one of the company’s bestsellers. Design of the Gallery projector meanwhile dates back to 2006. Their professional activity has, in recent years, extended to teaching and university research at the faculty of Industrial Design at Milan Polytechnic.
