Our lighting, from QDB Editions

The story of QDB Editions began in 2016 with a simple, foundational idea: giving a glass bottle a second life.

Founded by Gauthier Decarne, who was soon joined by Victoire, the brand is built on the principle of upcycling, transforming an everyday object into a useful and aesthetically pleasing piece. Originally known as Q de bouteilles, it evolved into QDB Editions to affirm its identity as a French manufacturer and publisher.
Based in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, in northern France, QDB Editions develops and manufactures all of its creations in-house. In its workshop, artisan glassmakers carry on a tradition of glassworking expertise while exploring new possibilities offered by the material. This mastery of production allows the brand to refine its techniques and accommodate both mass production and custom projects. The brand also embraces a sustainable approach—rooted in the project’s very origins—based on the transformation and reuse of glass, with the aim of extending the material’s lifespan through objects designed to last.

Over the years, QDB Editions has expanded its collections by exploring the many possibilities of glass, creating everyday objects—candleholders, vases, and lamps—that combine functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. Today, the brand opens its workshop to designers, artists, and architects, affirming its role as a publisher and expanding its creative horizons through numerous collaborations. Among these, the partnership with Théo Charasse exemplifies this dynamic: inspired by the transformation of the bottle, the designer has co-created an inaugural collection of lighting fixtures, the result of experimental work conducted within the workshop. Together, they push the boundaries of the material by playing with its limitations to better enhance them.

True to its roots and values, QDB Editions continues to pursue an approach where contemporary design, French craftsmanship, and eco-design come together to create durable and meaningful objects.
