Advice and fast quotations for all your projects
The prestigious Saint-Louis company was founded in 1586 in the Munster Valley in the Moselle region. This French crystal manufacturer produces designs in various fields: home decor, tableware, lighting, and furniture. It is the oldest crystal manufacturer in France.
Historically, the “Munster Glassworks” became the “Royal Glassworks” in 1767 by letters patent from King Louis XV and was renamed Saint-Louis. It was later renamed the Royal Crystalworks of Saint-Louis and, beginning in 1829, devoted itself exclusively to the production of crystal. Notably, it introduced the concept of glassware sets for the table with the famous Trianon model.
Every day, the factory produces mouth-blown crystal pieces that are hand-cut and hand-decorated by the crystal workshop’s artisans. These artisans are master glassblowers and master cutters who are among the “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” (Best Craftsmen of France).
Saint-Louis is a manufacturer that today successfully blends tradition and innovation and has never ceased to draw inspiration from contemporary artistic movements to build and renew its identity. In the early 20th century, as Art Nouveau and Art Deco emerged, many designers brought their talent to Saint-Louis, including Paul Nicolas, Jean Sala, Jean Luce, Michel Colle, and Maurice Dufrène.
Since 1995, Saint-Louis has been part of the Hermès Group and continues to draw on the talent of designers such as Éric Gizard, Hervé van der Straeten, Ionna Vautrin, José Lévy, Kiki van Eijk, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, and Paola Navone...
The factory remains the sole production site for Saint-Louis crystal pieces to this day. Visitors can tour its workshops as well as its museum.
