DUPERRÉ - HEJU STUDIO

Architect: Heju Studio

Lighting: Nedgis

Location: 75009 Paris

This typically Parisian apartment was tailor-made and renovated with great attention to detail for a young couple working in the fashion industry. We wanted to blend materials and know-how to create a result that was both bold and chic. The bespoke furniture weaves the different elements together and serves as the framework for the story being told.

In the large living room, the marble mantelpiece gives way to the brass bookcase with its assertive lines. A play of composition develops between the beige niche, the arched door leading to the master bedroom and the cut-out passageway to the kitchen. At the far end of the room, the suspended walnut kitchen is magnified by carved handles and a geometric composition on the wall designed as modern bas-reliefs. On the left, the large terracotta cupboard hides all the technical elements.

To enter the master bedroom, you first have to cross the dressing room, deliberately highlighted by the customers' profession. It features pink carpeting on the floor, brass racks and mirrored closets, and continues into the master bedroom. The parquet floor was painted white to bring in maximum light and create a minimal, soothing ambience, in contrast to the dressing room. The bespoke headboard in golden velvet creates an enveloping cocoon around the bed.

The bathroom, meanwhile, has taken the place of the former kitchen. The floor is lined with geometric cement tiles and the walls with waxed concrete. The totem basin units sit like sculptures in the center of the room.
