Nestled in a courtyard-facing residence in the Bastille district, this apartment lacked light despite its fourth floor; an inconsistency reinforced by the initial organization of the plan and the design of the openings.

Indeed, with its masonry spandrel window, the living room was dark, while the two bedrooms each had a French window opening onto the balcony. The rooms were squiggly and connected by a long corridor wasting almost 10m².

The idea of inverting the day and night areas was an obvious one, and the layout is now more rational with coherent volumes: The living room, which incorporates bookcases and an office area, now benefits from plenty of light, thanks to openings providing access to the pleasant balcony.

The wet rooms have been grouped around the technical ducts, and a laundry room has even been created. Circulation has been optimized and storage capacity increased by cleverly arranged cupboards.

Materials, furniture and fixtures were carefully selected. Light-catching shades; saffron yellow, terracotta...etc were one of the project's bias.
