PIANO BAR - SCAVONE DESIGN HOUSE

Architect: Scavone Design House

Lighting: Nedgis

Location: Lausanne
Our intervention consisted in transforming the 50m2 basement of a Lausanne apartment and making it useful. Art deco and organic influences guided our thinking throughout the project. The desire for a singular creation in the image of our client and his passion for music steered us towards an arty, sophisticated and hushed Piano Bar look.

Our intention was to rethink the organization of the room to create new dimensions and perspectives, offering a lounge area, a modern bar and a piano space. The bespoke furnishings, with their bold lines, perfectly echo the mustard cognac bespoke banquette, and cleverly offer a dual function; storage and railing for the staircase at the rear, whose geometry it echoes.

Subtle work has gone into the finishes, alternating textures, gloss and matte to amplify the space's detailed, high-end look.

At the far end of the room, the mirror creates a new visual dimension, enlarging the space and linking the various elements together, allowing them to be captured by the eye all at once. We worked with chic materials and finishes to achieve a daring yet muted result. The oak parquet alternates black and natural shades, developed to measure, to give rhythm to the space.

The walls are covered with a velvety, textured finish of moldings to structure and elevate the room. The curtains were chosen in an off-white bouclette fabric to accentuate the piano bar's enveloping identity. The bar harmoniously punctuates the space and adds a bright, fresh feel.

It elegantly blends a powder-blue finish with a marble-finish back, and reinforces the art deco design with its gold finish. The bespoke banquette defines the lounge area and invites conversation, while the textures and colors create a hushed, soothing feel.
