HAUSSMANNIEN PARIS 6 - ALEXANDRA BOUSSAGOL
Located in the 6th arrondissement, this huge Haussmann apartment needed a fresh, contemporary vision to open it up to modernity.
This was the mission accomplished by interior designer Alexandra Boussagol, who interpreted the owners' wishes while adding her refined touch.
As the entrance is quite monumental, the architect decided to dress it up to make it more welcoming without distorting it. The choice fell on a surprising wallpaper inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, which gave a new perspective to the whole. Tom Dixon's "Melt" sconces, with their organic shapes, softened the very clean lines of this typically Haussmann apartment.
The "Melt" wallpaper was chosen to give a new perspective to the whole. It took more than six months to optimize the space of this classic apartment and adapt it to contemporary lifestyles. Alexandra Boussagol chose to keep the original parquet flooring, which was matte-varnished for a warmer effect. Part of the large entrance hall was used to enlarge the bedroom and create a dressing room at the rear, without totally partitioning the space. Then another part of the triple living room was redesigned. With her trademark expert and refined touch, the architect gave new life to the living room, kitchen, entrance hall and children's bedrooms.
