Eddy is a man of experience and a sensitive heart. Like everyone else, his creative universe is rooted in the abyss of his childhood. Mobility, audacity and the place of Man are the key words of his past and his inspiration. With a mother who was a nurse and who didn't hesitate to confront him with human ailments and the scent of betadine, his projects are often inspired by a sense of altruism. New objects for everyday life 3.0. Trained at the Ecole Boulle, Eddy joined designer Ora Ito, then Christophe Pillet, Mathieu Lehanneur and finally Gilles et Boissier, before setting up his own studio. Eddy's first steps made him a creator in the broadest sense of the word.
With a handyman grandfather and a penniless mother, this resourceful little boy, faced with boxes of second-hand Legos with no instructions, built some amazing houses. With secret passages to let his creativity run free, and D-systems to provide a solution to every problem, the day Eddy received a new box, he threw away the instructions and did as he pleased! It's easy to see why he stands out from the crowd. He doesn't follow rules or diktats. The obvious is not his primary objective; only the optimum solution prevails.
He's fascinated by the men and women whose innovations turn the world upside down. It's no coincidence that he likes to think of Steve Jobs as a father figure. Interested in Asia, and Japan in particular, Eddy sees it as a way of discovering a new culture, of solving the same problem using a different way of thinking, like an alternative reality. A prankster at heart, Eddy retains a kind of innocence and marvels at nothing. But dreaming does not preclude rigor, and he has found the perfect harmony! If I had to sum up Eddy's personality, style and sassy charm in a few lines, I'd do no better than quote him in his own words:
"I don't like to confine myself to one style. I prefer to open up my palette, like a painter who doesn't have fetish colors, but tries, prototypes and dares. I like mixing styles as much as purifying them. But I don't like boring", like an unfiltered, bold child.
