IoLab Design

The brand is the meeting of two people: Jean-Charles Barbotin and Stéphane Brunclair. Both passionate about design and architecture, each structured by their respective careers.
Jean-Charles is a designer who has been working in the world of luxury furniture and objects for 30 years. Stéphane has collaborated, as an engineer/designer, on numerous projects for the visual arts and cinema.

They decided to combine their creativity with innovative interactive technologies and their passion for lighting design.

Eager to explore new materials and new technologies applied to light, the creation of IoLab was made. It is a work in participation with artists who come to enrich a palette around the MonoBlock concept. IoLab is a reflection turned towards skills. The brand develops innovative circuits for controllers and builds the future around this synergy.

IoLab is keen to work with French or European partners and service providers and to develop a production based on the quality of rendering, the know-how of the craft.

The brand's lamps are assembled by hand in an eco-design approach and is in line with IoLab's values and general process. All packaging is made of recycled materials and the products do not emit harmful electromagnetic fields. They are easily disassembled and each element is separable, replaceable and recyclable. All models of the brand are registered with the I.N.P.I.

IoLab lamps generate the sensation of a diffuse interior source, a form of intimacy with the object. The objective of the brand is to propose original pieces by their shape and choice of materials. The principles of diffusion, sequencing and light quality characterize the research of their technological developments. The brand wishes to reproduce atmospheres, through modulations, to take the lamp out of its functional role in order to become "living" matter.
