New Works

New Works was founded by Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik with the aim of bringing design to life with care and intention, while providing a space for creative experimentation and new work. While Nikolaj manages the operational aspects as CEO, Knut Bendik oversees the design as Creative Director, with a dedicated team. They aim to create a collection of elegant, accessible objects for everyday life.

The brand offers a collection that fuses old and new, light and dark, design and art. Inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of craftsmanship, they explore contemporary forms by collaborating with designers and artisans from around the world. Their work highlights sensuality and boldness through sculptural forms and honest materials.

The core values of New Works are respect for the natural qualities of materials (concrete, cork, marble), experimentation to discover new shapes and textures, tactility to create objects to touch and hold, and craftsmanship that pushes the boundaries of material and form, while retaining the artisanal touch right through to the final object. These principles guide their creations, adding depth and authenticity to every piece in their collection.
