Arash Nourinejad

Nationality
Danish
Occupation
Architect, Designer

After graduating in architecture from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Arash Nourinejad opened the website anour.dk in 2007 as a simple online portfolio.

Against a backdrop of economic crisis, Arash found it hard to find work, and even considered working as an interior designer for a Danish kitchen brand.

The story of the Anour brand as we know it today is an amusing coincidence. While Arash had been making designer furniture, including a bed, he decided to complement it with a hanging lamp, which would later become the I-Model, Anour's centerpiece. On seeing the final result, as he hung the pendant over the bed, he laughed out loud and said to his wife, "I wouldn't be surprised if the light became a design icon, rather than the bed.

Arash Nourinejad draws on his background in architecture to design; light and line are crucial elements in this field, and this is reflected in the designer's style.

Arash is in constant pursuit of purity and perfection, with the aim of getting as close as possible to the essential and dispensing with the superfluous.
