Enrico Azzimonti was born in 1966. He studied at the Polytechnic of Milan, where he obtained a degree in architecture in 1993. In 1994, he founded his own design studio that deals with architectural and industrial design. In 1995, he went back to the same school for a Masters in Design and Management focusing on architecture and experimentation in the field of industrial design. Since 1998, he has worked closely with the designer Jordi Pigem who he met at a summer session held by Hella Jongerius at the Domus Academy in Milan. His work has been distinguished in competitions and exhibitions: Young and Design - folding chair competition, JVC House New Generation, Security Device - Dainese, Surviving Fuorisalone, food design - Guzzini, Opos, 100% Design, Salone Satellite in Milan, International Biennial Saint-Etienne, Valence Nu Salon, the New Italian Design at the Triennale in Milan, ceramic tiles from Italy Milan-Bologna. Italian and foreign specialized trade publications have selected his work for three editions of the International Design Yearbook for the ADI Design Index 2007. Some of his works are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Barcelona. He has held workshops in several Italian universities. He has taught since 2006 at the European Institute of Design in Milan. Among his clients : Zava, TVS, Lavazza, Fratelli Guzzini, Coop, JVC, Diamantini & Domeniconi, Bilumen, Risoli and Demolli. For Zava, Enrico Azzimonti created the table lamp Zak and the wall light Sketch.
