Fabio Fantolino is an architect and designer based in Turin (with an office in Milan since 2014), whose creative approach ranges from architecture and interior design to product design. His practice is nurtured by bespoke know-how, integrating a strong aesthetic sensibility, technical mastery and an awareness of contemporary requirements.
In the Bolina collection for TOOY, Fantolino explores the tension between lightness and stability: ochre satin glass diffuses a warm light, while the leather straps surrounding the lampshade bring contrast and refinement. Its design evokes the welcoming roundness of a buoy, rethought as a pendant, table lamp or wall light: each piece adapts to different environments, while retaining a strong identity and timeless charm.
His work with Bolina perfectly illustrates his balance between form and function: he creates luminous volumes that not only light up, but also seduce visually, even when switched off.
