In 1974, Giovanni Barbato was born in Padua, Italy.
He studied at the University of Architecture of Venice and took an industrial design course in Padua. The passion for glass led him to study at the Abate Zanetti School in Murano, where he collaborated for the first time with glassworks. From an early age, he began working on projects for many factories on the island, so he became a famous designer in the field of lighting.
His creations are characterized by simple and essential forms, but also by a constant search for movement. In 2013, he designed the Spiry collection for Axo Light, which led him to win a Good Design Award, one of the most recognized design awards.
In 2015, he designed the Hoops and Aibu collections for Axo Light.
