Joel Karlsson

Joel Karlsson was born in 1975 in Gothenburg, and educated at Konstfack specialized in Interior and Furniture Design. He also has a degree in Architecture from the Royal Technical University in Stockholm and Parsons School of Design in New York. Growing up in a permissive and creative environment, Joel was early on tempted down the path of design. With a great deal of curiosity and a strong internal motivation, Joel has established himself among the top designers of Scandinavia. He works in different fields of design, not only furniture. His design ambition is based on the user and market needs. In close collaboration with the producer, he then develops the product based on technical, economical and marketing conditions. Joel wants to create quality items that will last: Products that you live with, not consume. He is today a partner at Krook & Tjäder Design in Gothenburg.
