Designer

Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba was born in 1976 in Massalombarda, Italy. He attended the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts. Straight out of school, he began working in theater production design and collaborated with architects on numerous projects. On the side, he was designing unique design objects and soon the two directions - art and design concepts - fusioned together. For over 10 years, he has produced works for public, private and local commissions.

The relationship between Man and Nature is his favourite theme; interpreting both the dynamics and beauty of nature, showing how Man's attitude affects what is original.

He loves thinking about his work as a direct continuation of what he used to do when he was a child, playing with everything he finds and creating what his spirit imagined. He is indeed devoted to looking for the aesthetic components and concepts as they are an outgrowth of the same sources that he created while playing, daydreaming with everything surrounding him. He learned from Art how an idea could be elegant and that's why he is always looking for pure concise concepts.

He works with the brand Selletti and is known for his Monkey lamps.
