Monika Mulder grew up in the North of the Netherlands. In her childhood, paper and glue were the main tools Monika used to create things.

The designer studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven from 1992 to 1997. An internship at IKEA's design office in Sweden led to a job and a series of remarkable projects.
Since 2007, Monika Mulder has been running her own design studio in a former sugar factory in Gothenburg. From there, she works as an independent designer for companies such as Materia, Markslöjd, Pholc, Lundbergs möbler, Tenzo and IKEA.
Monika Mulder has received many titles such as Best Swedish Design and Best Furniture of the Year.
