Founded in 2012 by architects Ambra Fabi and Giovanni Piovene, the Piovenefabi studio is based between Milan and Brussels.

Their work spans architecture, design, urban research, and public space projects, with a focus on creating places and objects that foster both collective and individual experiences. Recognized for their contextual, sustainable approach that emphasizes reuse, the two architects have presented their projects at numerous international exhibitions, notably at the Chicago, Lisbon, and Rotterdam Architecture Biennales. In addition to their practice, they teach at several European architecture schools and actively contribute to the discourse on the discipline’s evolution.

Piovenefabi’s creations draw inspiration from the city, its infrastructure, and everyday elements, which they reinterpret with a style that is at once understated, graphic, and rich in meaning. Their approach transforms familiar forms into contemporary objects where architecture and design converge in a balance between functionality and poetry. This vision is fully expressed in the Metro Lamps collection, developed in partnership with Valerie_Objects, which reimagines the iconic handrails of the Milan metro through a series of sculptural light fixtures with minimalist lines.
