The design agency Serge Cornelissen Lighting-Tool Designers opened shop in 1993. At the helm was Serge Cornelissen (born in 1970) who obtained his Architecture diploma in 1993 from St. Lucas Institute in Ghent, Belgium. Serge Cornelissen’s assistant Robert Cornelissen (born in 1946) produced lighting installations for several light firms from 1982 to 1993. From the onset, the design firm has exclusively specialized in the design of installations and architectural lighting systems. They collaborate with the Italian firm Martinelli Luce for whom they have notably created the Bowl table lamp and the Bandero lamp.
The lighting installations produced by Cornelissen have been applied to numerous architectural projects all over the world.
