ABOUT THEM
Founded in 2010 by Caroline Ziegler and Pierre Brichet, Studio BrichetZiegler offers an open, cross-disciplinary vision of design through a technical and poetic approach. Drawing on their in-depth knowledge of know-how, they take a fresh look at materials and shapes.
For the past 10 years, the duo has pursued its creative conversation, forming an open think-tank to interact without limits.
Working on all scales, from craft to industry, their projects emerge from their encounters. They collaborate with furniture and lighting companies. Colorful, graphic and expressive, they design evocative objects where materials and their uses are highlighted.
In 2015, seeking to develop another field of expression and experimentation, they were among the first French designers to explore the field of self-production, creating the By Hands collection. A family of objects and furniture, imagined, designed and manufactured by themselves in their workshop, in limited editions.
In 2017, they were awarded the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris. Some of their products belong to the permanent collections of the Mobilier National and the CNAP.
THEIR VISION
Each new project is an opportunity to challenge ourselves.
We often use materials or processes as a starting point, and this determines the way we enter into the project. Working with materials and their properties, respecting their limits, exploring the range of possibilities or hijacking know-how are key dimensions of our approach.
Our aim is to produce bold products that stand out for their shapes and technical qualities. Objects that fit into any environment and last, beyond trends.
Teamwork is essential to us, forging and refining objects down to the smallest detail, as we iterate through their development and learn from each other's experiences.
That's why we believe in craftsmanship, processes, people, makers and local production for the future.
Studio BrichetZiegler's designs include the Yasuke lamp and the Plume collection for DCW.
