Truly Truly is a design studio based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was founded by an Australian couple: Joel and Kate Booy. Besides creating lighting they also work on creating textiles, furniture and spatial installations.
Joel and Kate focus on the quality of their products, they combine technical ingenuity with new aesthetics. The industrial process is serving art for they like to blur the line between natural and unnatural. Pushing materials and techniques to their limits, they seek to create poetic pieces of art. “We are constantly trying to appeal to our own desire to be surprised, captivated or moved. Our work is often sculptural or poetic, with tactility, sensuality and functionality playing an important role.” – Truly Truly
In 2017, they worked with the lighting brand Rakumba on their collection Typography.
