Valentina Carretta is an Italian designer born in 1981. She got her Master’s degree in Design at the Milan Polythechnic in 2006 and then launched a collaboration with Fabrica, working in the design department. At Fabrica, she works on product design and spatial layout. Her achievements include a collection of blown glass objects created for the Gallery Secondome (Rome), ceramics for the art of the table produced by Bosa and a series of objects in a limited number for Zanotta. In 2008, she started her own studio parallel to her activity at Fabrica. She has exposed her own work at the Triennale in Milan, at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto, the MAD Museum of New York, at the MUDAC in Lausanne, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and in the Furniture Salons in Milan and Paris. In Valentina's opinion, design should penetrate the habits and customs of everyday life. Valentina Cerretta's creations have a story. She uses everyday materials to make each creation with surprise references to our daily lives. One of her notable creations is the Egg of Columbus lamp for Seletti.
