MORBIHAN 01 - ATELIER FB

Architect: ATELIER FB

Lighting: Nedgis

Location: Golfe du Morbihan

We had the good fortune and opportunity to renovate a superb seaside house in the Gulf of Morbihan and transform it into a vast family home.

First we had to convert an unused garage into two guest bedrooms. In total, the house has 8 bedrooms, each with its own shower room or bathroom, including a children's dormitory, a baby's room adjoining the master bedroom, a double living room, an open kitchen with a dining extension.

The terrace has been refurbished with large granite-style ceramic tiles, reminiscent of Brittany stone. A long outdoor concrete bench extends the dining area, covered with seat cakes and overlooking the pool.

The swimming pool has also been redesigned: its proportions have been reduced to accommodate the roller shutter, but also a foot-bath-like promontory to accommodate small children. Everything was analyzed, thought through and called into question: the volumes, the circulation - and in particular the staircase - the materials, the light, the ambiances for each room, but also the pool, which we remodeled, the garden and the terrace.

For the staircase, which is already in place, we decided to work with a solid oak cladding that turns over at the ceiling, with a shape reminiscent of fishbones, a play of curves in the thickness of the wood.
