CHARLES - BC ATELIERS
One of the challenges was to reconcile all the constraints of daytime and night-time living: to create, on the one hand, an open, welcoming space, with a large living room and a real dining room, and, on the other, an intimate sphere conducive to rest.
The apartment, accessed via a walkway, has been given a beautiful front door to assert its new residential identity.
The living room is centered on life, organized to let the room breathe. It is marked by a large light oak bookcase in front of which a strong iconic piece unfolds: a De Sede "Non-Stop" sofa in tan leather.
A technical "box", on which a large TV screen is mounted on the living room side, integrates the kitchen area, whose dark grey ceramic worktop harmonizes with the shade of the storage units. The box has several functions: it defines the entrance, optimizes the placement of functional elements, and acts as a transition to the bedroom, where it extends into a dressing room. A large door separates the daytime space from the bedroom, its two sliding oak panels allowing modular opening/closing and contrasting with the intense grey-blue of the dressing room. The dressing room conceals, in an elegant linear layout, access to the adjoining bathroom, bright and comfortable with its large walk-in shower.
The fluid movement of the sofa, a curved mirror and a Bold chair (designed by studio Big-Game for publisher Moustache) with their humorous shapes add a touch of softness and roundness.
