RESTAURANT CAFE DE PRELAZ - SCAVONE DESIGN HOUSE

Architect: Scavone Design House

Lighting: Nedgis

Location: Lausanne
The Café de Prélaz restaurant is a sparkling, lively project in the heart of Lausanne. In a roaster style, revisited with urban and bohemian touches that reflect the energy of its owner. The client gave us carte blanche, allowing us to express ourselves fully to give the establishment a unique, chic look. We redesigned this large open space in its entirety, keeping in mind the fluidity that the restaurant should have. The idea of a large central table to bring conviviality to the restaurant and create a family feeling where customers feel at ease. The textures give rhythm to the space and emphasize the eclectic design.

The main wall features an inviting floral wallpaper, which can be seen from outside the restaurant. At the far end, another concrete-effect mural has been chosen to add an urban touch. As in any space, luminosity plays an essential role. All the more so in a large open space like Le Café de Prélaz.

The fixtures were carefully chosen to create a warm, hushed look, as well as to animate and decorate the ceiling with different sizes, shapes and intensities. They also give rhythm and graphics to the entire restaurant. The existing bar was completely transformed and redesigned to give it a modern century look.

An opening was created by removing the wall above the bar, allowing us to install two custom-made shelves in metal and glass. Bottles and plant elements are thus highlighted. These elements bring lightness and modernity to the new bar. A warm wood was chosen to cover its structure and link the spaces.

Then to frame the bar and give it a graphic touch, we covered the columns with white tiles contrasted by black grouting. The bar's new look gives the restaurant a lot of pizzazz!
