In 1940, Carlos López, the founder of the FARO Group, entered the market by selling batteries from a small shop of about 10 square meters in Barcelona. Very soon, he decided to team up with a friend who specialized in assembling desk lamps to market adjustable lamps.

Building on his success in the 1950s, Carlos López founded LOREFAR in 1951—a name formed by combining the first letters of his surname and that of his partner.

Subsequently, the family business began to face difficulties in the 1980s, prompting his son, Carlos López Orejudo, to take a risk and move to Hong Kong to expand the lighting range and revitalize the company. Thanks to this initiative, FARO grew stronger and became a leading name in lighting and ventilation in Spain.

In 1991, Faro Barcelona’s lighting fixtures arrived in France and were an instant success; the company’s lighting ranges appealed to the French market. In 2015, the brand decided to reinvent itself and began promoting dynamism, freshness, approachability, creativity, and well-being through its designs.

Furthermore, Faro has established itself by developing lamps with sophisticated designs, impeccable quality, and highly competitive prices. The company collaborates with numerous designers—including Studio Ribaudi, Jordi Lliopis, and Manel Llusca, to name a few—to create exclusive pieces.

At Faro, you’ll find a very wide range of lighting fixtures for both indoor and outdoor use. Every Faro lamp model comes with a 3-year warranty.
