SkLO Studio

Czech brand SkLO Studio was founded in 2009 by design couple Paul Pavlak and Karen Gilbert. In Czech, "SkLO" means "glass". The name of the brand is therefore very revealing and perfectly in tune with the products it offers. Indeed, the heart of all SkLO collections and all the work behind them is hand-blown Czech glass. The SkLO design studio creates both lighting fixtures and objects.

Studio SkLO design's philosophy is craftsmanship. Karen Gilbert's aim is to celebrate craftsmanship without neglecting design. For where craft focuses on technique and form, design focuses on process and materials. As a result, all the studio's creations are entirely handmade. Each luminaire is unique, with its own specific details.

For Paul Pavlak and Karen Gilbert, creating lighting is the ideal way to express the intersection of beauty and function. The products in the Light collection are individually crafted from solid brass and hand-blown Czech glass. They strike a balance between refined simplicity and the organic nature of their materials. Beyond lighting, the Object collection includes accessories, tableware, sculptures and wall pieces in hand-blown Czech glass. Finally, the Project collection is dedicated to custom-made works (lighting, installations, sculptures, etc.).
