Chia-Ying Lee, originally from Taiwan, is a designer specializing in industrial design and new media. After graduating from the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea, Italy, in 2006, she worked for three years at PEGA Design & Engineering before founding her own studio, Studio If, in December 2011.
Her work blends design, art and technology in creations ranging from products to installations. She has collaborated with renowned institutions such as the National Art Museum of Taiwan and the JUT Foundation for Art and Architecture. Studio If also produces limited series for boutiques and galleries in Europe, Taipei and Beijing. Her projects have won numerous awards, including the IF China Product Design Award, the Taiwan Excellence Award and the SDA Best Design of the Year. In 2015, she was recognized among Asian talents at IFFS and designed "Random" for Studio Italia Design.
Renowned for her contemporary creations in lighting design, Chia-Ying Lee is distinguished by her clean, minimalist aesthetic. Her works, often inspired by nature and organic forms, harmoniously integrate light, matter and shadows, favoring natural materials such as wood and glass. Some of his interactive luminaires add a unique sensory dimension, enriching the user's experience.
