The designer David Pompa was born in 1986 in Austria. With an Austrian mother and a Mexican father, David Pompa grew up between Mexico and Austria. In 2005, he began his studies at the Higher Technical School of Design Ferlach. In 2008, the designer obtained a Master's degree in Arts and Design at Kingston University in London.

In 2013, for even more creations, David Pompa decided to create a studio in his name in Austria with a production in Mexico City. Indeed, having grown up between the two countries, the designer has created a strong link with the Mexican culture. This young Studio is composed of designers and engineers with a deep respect for materials and craftsmen. They combine traditional materials and craftsmanship with their common passion to achieve perfection.

The idea of working with Mexican crafts begins with a trip to Oxaca in 2009 where David Pompa sees artisans working with "Barro Negro" for the first time. As a result, he immediately started experimenting and working the material, which led to his first collection. To get there, it was necessary to find a new way of working, defying the limits of culture, product and material.

Studio David Pompa is therefore strongly committed to Mexican culture and aims to create beautifully designed and accessible design objects.

Tradition and innovation mixed with their passion for high quality inspires Studio David Pompa's designers. They decide to reinvent Mexican crafts with their collection of furniture and lighting.

Thanks to their common love for crafts and Mexico, they create a surprising magic by combining typical materials and new techniques or ideas.
