Born in Auvergne in 1973, Douglas Mont is a designer trained at the Camondo school.
Also a graphic artist and painter, in 1999 he founded Jetnet Design and Domomodo Éditions, two companies specializing in the manufacture of luminous plastic furniture. Bored with industrial production and big cities, he returned to his native Auvergne, drawing inspiration and creative energy from the tranquility of his native region. Nurtured by Jodorowsky's imagery inspired by the cult science-fiction novel "Dune", he is strongly influenced by the lighting and furniture of the 50s and 60s, a period he admires for its tranquility and distinct aesthetic.
In 2018, Douglas Mont decided to "turn the lights back on" by relaunching production of the bestsellers from the Parisian firm Rispal, founded by his great-uncle in 1924. He redesigned the Formes Nouvelles of the 1950s, augmented by his own contemporary creations. Specializing in the modular design of evolving light sculptures for outdoor use, he creates a reasoned and ecological production process. His creations, combining retro aesthetics and innovation, are the fruit of a deep passion for sustainable design.
Douglas Mont's collaboration with DCWéditions on the "In the Air" collection marks a milestone in his career. By exhuming Rispal's modern creations and drawing inspiration from its DNA, he creates a contemporary descendant to the star products of this sleeping beauty.
