Filip Arickx is a Belgian designer known for his unique and interdisciplinary approach to design.
In 1997, he co-founded the fashion house A.F. Vandevorst with An Vandevorst, which quickly became iconic. Their aesthetic is distinguished by a bold style blending military influences, medical uniforms, and more subversive aesthetics, notably marked by their famous cross-shaped logo inspired by the Red Cross. After 23 years of creativity and influence in the fashion world, the duo shut down the brand in 2020, at a time when the industry was shifting toward approaches more focused on marketing than on pure creativity.
Driven by a constant desire to explore new territories, Filip Arickx then turned to glassblowing, drawn to the discipline’s simultaneously spectacular and delicate nature. For him, fashion transcends clothing and is part of a holistic lifestyle, open to multiple forms of expression. His creations reflect this sensibility, playing on contrasts in textures, materials, and emotions, often inspired by nature and organic forms.
Today, he presents the Oak lighting collection, developed in collaboration with Serax.
